Every semester the International Center arranges bilateral culture exchange activities for our international students and local students in order to know each other’s culture better. On the first Friday afternoon in November, CTBC international students joined the city tour with Ms. Ivy Huang, their Mandarin teacher, and some students from the CTBC International Academy.

Win, the exchange student from Thailand learned Zheng was the general of the Ming Dynasty who had recovered Taiwan from the Dutch invaders. Coming up next the tour went for a treat at the local famous fruit store nearby, they enjoyed some big plates of fresh cut fruit shaved ice. Impressed and tasted that Taiwan is known as a variety of tropical fruit empire.

After the refreshments, they carried on to Confucius temple (孔廟), although the main building is under renovation, CTBC sophomore student, May shared they were able to know the beliefs which Confucius delivered and the special day related to him. At the end of the tour each student wrote down a wish on a yellow sheet, had it stamped, and kept well to themselves as a blessing charm.
