CTBC Prepares for AACSB

Established five years ago, CTBC Business School is now ready to seek AACSB accreditation status.  AACSB basically stands for “Association to Advance Collegiate Schools of Business” and represents the absolute pinnacle of business school education. Today, only about five percent of the world’s 16,000-plus business schools have attained this esteemed accreditation.

Since the commencement of the 2020 spring semester, Visiting Associate Professor Wilson Wong has joined the faculty in the Department of Banking and Finance. Professor Wong earned his PhD at the University of Cambridge. He also has considerable experience in automotive and financial markets (specializing in Mergers and Acquisitions, Market Research). Moreover, Professor Wong will work closely with the International Affairs and Accreditation Center in their efforts to spearhead CTBC Business School’s AACSB accreditation drive.

To this point, CTBC Business School has attained the financial standing, critical mass (in terms of graduates), and faculty needed to apply for this “gold standard” in business education, and we are already well on track to submit our Eligibility Application. The attainment of AACSB accreditation would not only cement our status as a major business school but also give us the added cachet needed to attract more students and faculty of international standing, creating a virtuous loop that would enable us to compete more effectively in an increasingly competitive global business education market.
