【107-2】Exchange Program Session by Philippines Partner School

CTBC Business School interacts with partner schools via exchange program, and Lyceum of the Philippines University has been sending its students to Tainan since September 2018 ever since CTBC sent its first batch of students for a one-month immersion program to Manila in July 2017. To further promote LPU to CTBC students, Ms. Jobelle B. Villanueva, the presentative of the International Affairs Office, visited CTBC campus and held an exchange program session to introduce everything we need to know about the university.

In the beginning of the session, Ms. Jobelle covered all the essential knowledge about LPU and living in Manila, including the academic resources, campus environment, student services, and accommodation. “LPU knows it may be a challenge to adapt new life in a foreign country, so the supports we offer to international students plays an important role for them to feel safe and comfort”, said by Jobelle. One of the most intriguing arrangement is LPU’s Youth Educators Guild, an organization runs by what LPU called “student-teachers”. The YEG ensures all the new exchange students receive assistances they need in a timely manner, and able to go around Manila with companion.

Jobelle also pointed out that LPU University offers many English-taught courses in various fields for exchange students, including business and accountancy, law, mass communications, engineering, and so on. For exchange students, studying for one or two semesters at LPU is a great opportunity to improve professional knowledge and English proficiency at the same time.

At the moment, CTBC has accommodated in total of five LPU students for the past two semesters, and there will be more LPU students coming Taiwan in the future. The International Center encourages CTBC students stepping out of the comfort zone to enrich new experiences and perspectives about Manila, Philippines, and the southeastern region.
